Leadership

Picture
Staci Young
President

It is my distinct honor to serve as this year's PTO President.  I have a supportive husband of 12 years, an amazing 5th grader, Ethan, and a soon-to-be Patriot, Miles.  I have been a part of this organization for 5 years serving different roles including Spirit Wear, Holiday Marketplace Coordinator, and Communications Board Member.  Professionally, I have been in various marketing roles and wanted to lead my expertise in MarCom, leadership, project management and event planning to help create a fun Riojas community.

I am thrilled to be your PTO Vice President.  My husband, Budro, and I have made Avalon our home for the past several years with our two children, Penelope, a second grader and Miles, a kindergartner in the Spanish Immersion Program. This is my third year in the Riojas PTO and I have served as Spring Carnival Raffle Chair, and Co-Editor of The Patriot Yearbook in addition to volunteering during the school year at many of our fun events.  My commitment to my children, the harmony of the classrooms, our staff, and the overall success of Riojas drives me to be an active and involved parent and advocate.  We have a wonderful school with dedicated teachers, administrative staff and volunteers, and I look forward to another great year!

Vice President of Communications

I'm a wife, mom of three (2 current & 1 future Riojas Patriot) and marketer by day.  I am honored to serve the Riojas PTO as the VP of Communications.  I enjoy being active in the PTO because it helps our school, kids and brings together our amazing community.  I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce.  I started my journey in the Riojas Elementary PTO as the School Supplies Coordinator, as a working mom, I love the convenience and cost of the service - it gives you the gift of time! (Seriously just order them!)

I am very excited to be rejoining your PTO Board. I have served in the past on the board in the role of Hospitality and have been a volunteer with the PTO for various fun events. My daughter, Merida, is in 1st Grade Spanish Immersion and Brooke, is in 5th Grade. I also have a future Patriot, Winston, who will join us at Riojas next year.  When I am not helping build fun elementary school memories for the students and teachers of Riojas Elementary, I am creating magical memories for families as a Travel Professional specializing in Disney destinations. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you through all of your volunteer efforts. I know this will be an amazing year!

Vice President of Fundraising

I'm stoked to put the FUN in VP of Fundraising this year with family centered events and exploring new opportunities to increase Riojas's PTO income.  My family and I moved to Pflugerville last year after several years as a military family.  I've been married to my husband, Bryan, for 12 years.  We have a 1st grader, Bryan Jr., at Riojas. Last year I served as the Holiday Marketplace Chair and Carnival Co-Chair.  I can't wait for another exciting year and to meet all of you during all the fun (seriously, come say hey!)

Secretary

I have a daughter that will be in 4th grade this year. Last year, I had the rewarding opportunity to be the Yearbook Chairwoman. Though I had been involved with the PTO for a few years prior, this was my first leadership position & I really enjoyed making a meaningful impact on how the memories of the school year were captured. This year will be my second year on the PTO board as Secretary because I want to continue to support & contribute to the success of our teachers, our students, & our school.... the PTO leaders and volunteers are awesome, too!  Interesting fact about me: I moved to Spain for ~2 years to study Flamenco dancing & performed with a professional company for many years.

I have one child at Riojas, Sofia, a second grader in the Spanish Immersion Program.  I decided to volunteer this year so that I can be more involved at Riojas and give back to the school.  Its important for me to be an active parent where my children will go to school and this allows me the opportunity to do that. I love to craft! I have been getting more into crafting now that I have a silhouette machine :)
